SRWA student competes in British Swimming Championships

Posted on: 23rd Apr 2019

Congratulations to Charlotte Johnson who competed in the British Swimming Championships in Glasgow over the Easter break.

This is the very top of the swimming competitions in GB and the qualifying times are fierce. Just to get there is a great achievement. She swum in the 200 Metre butterfly event, and as this is an “Open” age group, she was competing against Olympic swimmers, so no chance of any medals, particularly as she was just about the youngest swimmer there.

The timing of her race is at 1hr 12 mins on the slider bar on the video below. Charlotte's dad, Paul, said "It was a cracking race with a large personal best for her. She certainly had me on the edge of my seat, I can tell you! However, for us, just the picture of her face at the end makes all the effort, early mornings and hard work worthwhile."

Well done Charlotte!
