On 12th September, our Greenpower team competed at the famous Dunsfold test track alongside schools from across the South of England.

The event marked the culmination of a year of hard work by the 2025/26 team, who spent countless hours modifying and perfecting the car for race day.

The team delivered an outstanding performance on the track, securing an amazing 15th place in class in the first race—the Academy's highest-ever finish—followed by a strong 17th place in the second race. The drivers demonstrated great strategic awareness, quickly learning the circuit layout to optimise their racing lines and manage battery consumption efficiently.

Team management in the pits was expertly led by W6 mentor Tyler Greener, and the students were a true credit to the Academy throughout the day.

It was an extraordinarily rewarding experience for both students and staff, made even sweeter by finishing ahead of several other local competing schools. With momentum on their side, the team is already planning further developments for the car as they prepare for the 2027/28 fixture.
