National Theatre Connections - Sycamore Gap

Posted on: 2nd Feb 2026

We are delighted to invite you to this year’s National Theatre Connections production of Sycamore Gap

This powerful play explores the felling of the Sycamore Gap tree through rumours, secrets and conspiracy. A group of students are accused, suspicion spreads quickly, and no one knows who to trust. Think The Traitors- but on stage.

As the students are questioned by unseen police, the truth slowly begins to unravel and blame shifts from person to person. Alongside this, a chorus known as The Court of Public Opinion watches, comments and reflects how quickly judgement and mob mentality can take hold.

The play explores ideas of influence, suspicion, intolerance and blame, encouraging audiences to question how opinions are formed and how easily they can be manipulated.

🎭 Performances:
📍 Alan Strong Theatre, SRWA: 9 & 10 February, 7pm
📍 Minerva Theatre, Chichester: 7 March
