Supercurriculum embryology session for students

Students in years 8, 9 and 12 had a unique opportunity to work with Embryologist Bethan Clark, a PhD student from Cambridge University's Developmental Biology lab. They explored the world of fish embryo development using our microscopes and how scientists are using CRISPR-Cas9 gene editing technology to edit parts of a genome. They also discussed the ethical implications of developing and using this technique, which has the potential for discovering ways to change, alter or repair genes that are responsible for a wide range of diseases.
