Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat

In January, we hosted for the fourth year running, the All Schools Music Workshop with a record-breaking 500 students and staff taking part from six local primary schools.  The workshops were held over two days followed by evening performances.

The schools represented this year along with our own Academy students were;  Seaside Primary, North Lancing Primary, Shoreham Beach Primary, The Globe Primary Academy, Sompting Village Primary and St Andrews CofE Primary School in Hove.

The show was amazing and highlighted the talent of all the students involved.  We would like to share some of the comments received following the performances:-

Comment from Tim Loughton MP – “May I extend my grateful thanks and heartfelt congratulations to all those involved in the outstanding production of Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat which I thoroughly enjoyed.  It is a remarkable achievement bringing together so many students from different schools and to see them united in their pleasure in performing this wonderful production.  It obviously could not have happened without the dedication of your committed staff”.

Comment from Sarah Erratt-Rose, Deputy Head, Sompting Village Primary School - “Always brilliant, but this year even more brilliant than ever!   The staff and students of SRWA must be so proud and, as one of their feeder schools, we are so grateful for everything their performing arts department does for us”.

Comment from Ricky Leigh, Head of School, The Globe Primary – “The performance was amazing and I am extremely grateful to you for offering our pupils this unique opportunity.   It is always great to have pupils experience the exciting times that lie ahead for them at secondary school”.

Comment from Kieran Scanlon, Acting Principal, SRWA – “It has been a great privilege for us to get the opportunity to collaborate with our feeder schools in such a creative way.  I’m very grateful to the community for supporting this wonderful event!”

Comment from James Lelean, Director of Music Performance, SRWA - “I thoroughly enjoyed working with the amazing students from across the primary schools and we have had a fantastic show with sell-out performances – a real highlight for SRWA”.

Comment from Felix Barrett, SRWA Sixth Form student who played the leading role of Joseph - “This is my second time playing Joseph, but playing the role in a performance with the six primary schools made it an amazing performance and it is a privilege to have had them here with us”.
