Dickensian London in Lancing
The December school production was the family favourite A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens, adapted by John Mortimer.
The theatre was transformed into the streets of Dickensian London, where out of a London skyline the familiar characters emerged, assisted by a chorus of Victorian townsfolk to make hard-hearted Ebenezer Scrooge see the error of his ways before Christmas Day. Incorporating live music, song, dance and storytelling, the audience flew through time and location as Scrooge became enlightened to the joys of Christmas and the need for charity and friendship.
Ebenezer Scrooge was played by Sixth Form student, Liam, who together with all the students involved, performed like professionals and were amazing. The costumes, set and stage management, all made, constructed and run by SRWA students, was stunning and something to be very proud of.
A brilliant production!
