Design Tech trip to Bowers and Wilkins

On the 20th November the W6 3D Design students attended a visit to the Bowers and Wilkins facility in Worthing. They had a guided tour of the manufacturing plant and experience some of the world class acoustic products they produce. The students were able to see real life manufacturing techniques speak with the engineers and see first-hand the rigorous quality assurance that ensures such high standards in Bowers and Wilkins products.

On completion of the tour the students had the unique opportunity of a listening session in Bowers and Wilkins acoustically treated room and their state of the art Cinema room. The students were spoilt by the hospitality and the sound quality they experienced as they enjoyed various tracks and video clips that demonstrated the high end results of the extensive design, testing and manufacturing techniques that are used to create the speakers.

Once again The SRWA 3D Design department and W6 would like to extend our thanks to Bowers and Wilkins for giving up their valuable time for our students, it was a truly awe inspiring visit which demonstrated perfectly how products are created and highlighted many potential careers paths available to them.
