Connecting to SRWA Wifi
For staff and sixth form students, you can access the SRWA_BYOD network.
In your network settings on your device, select SRWA_BYOD.
You will be asked to enter your username and password.
Username: your school login, e.g. m.teacher
Password: your school PC login.
If you are prompted to trust a certificate, click to accept it and enter your password for your laptop or device to install it.
Please follow ALL of the instructions below to ensure your access works.
To download/install both certificates, you must have first joined the SRWA_BYOD network first and sbe ure to also add the http:// part of the address.

Whilst connected to SRWA_BYOD visit http://10.201.0.254/getmitm and download the certificate

Go to Downloads and double-click the certificate you've downloaded. The Keychain app will open.

Double-click the Smoothwall certificate in the list

Expand the Trust section

In the "When using this certificate drop-down", select Always Trust

Close the certificate window by pressing the red X.

When prompted, enter your Mac password to confirm the changes and click Update Settings

Close the Keychain Access window
iPad, iPhone, iPod, iOS (Safari)
- Whilst connected to SRWA_BYOD get the Certificate from http://10.201.0.254/getmitm
- Click the Download the certificate button
- When prompted, press Install
- If prompted, enter or configure your password to confirm
- Navigate to your Settings app> General > About > Certificate Trust Settings and enable Full Trust for Root certificates for the Smoothwall certificate.
Android
- Whilst connected to SRWA_BYOD get the Certificate http://10.201.0.254/getmitm
- When prompted, enter a name of your choice for the certificate
- Click OK, If prompted, enter or configure your password to confirm
- If prompted, enter a certificate name (call it SRWA)
- If prompted, from the Credentials use drop-down select VPN and apps
- Click OK
- To confirm certificate installation was successful, navigate to Settings > Trusted credentials
- Select the User tab to view user-installed certificates
Chromebook, ChromeOS
- Whilst connected to SRWA_BYOD get the Certificates http://web2/1.crt and http://web2/2.crt
- Go to Menu > Settings
- Expand Show advanced settings
- Go to HTTPS/SSL and click Manage certificates...
- Go to Authorities and click Import...
- Navigate to your download directory and select the file you downloaded earlier
- Select Trust this certificate for identifying websites
- Click OK
- Click Finished and close the settings tab
Windows - Internet Explorer
- Whilst connected to SRWA_BYOD get the Certificate http://10.201.0.254/getmitm
- From the Control Panel, open Internet Options
- Go to Content > Certificates
- Go to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab
- Click Import
- Navigate to your download directory and select the file you downloaded earlier
- Click OK
- Restart Internet Explorer (it will not work unless you restart Internet Explorer)
Chrome (Windows)
- Whilst connected to SRWA_BYOD get the Certificate http://10.201.0.254/getmitm
- Go to Menu > Settings in Chrome
- Expand Show advanced settings
- Go to HTTPS/SSL > Manage certificates.
- Go to the Trusted Root Certification Authorities tab
- Click Import
- Navigate to your download directory and select the file you downloaded earlier
- Click OK
- Click Finished
- Repeat the process for the second certificate and close the settings tab
- Restart Chrome
Firefox (Windows)
- Whilst connected to SRWA_BYOD get the Certificate http://10.201.0.254/getmitm and click the Download the certificate button
- When prompted select Trust this CA to identify websites and click OK
- Repeat for the second certificate
- Restart Firefox
