W6 Sixth Form at SRWA

W6 Sixth Form at SRWA

W6 is the sixth form college at The Sir Robert Woodard Academy in Lancing, West Sussex. It is located between Brighton and Worthing, at the foot of the South Downs National Park and is near the glorious British coast. The college is part of the wider Woodard Corporation and has close ties to its sister institutions of Lancing College and Hurstpierpoint College.

As an institution, W6 is going from strength to strength. Each year we have seen an incredible growth in results and destinations. We are pleased to say we have had three students secure places at Oxford over recent years and others who have gone on to study at other prestigious institutions. Whatever your dream, we can help you get there.

Our aim at W6 is to see our students succeed by facilitating outstanding learning with excellent opportunities, brilliant teaching and amazing resources; all housed in a centre with great facilities.

We offer a variety of programmes, ranging from academic to more career focused vocational courses, including the opportunity to be part of a Basketball Academy or the Chelsea Football Academy. The combination of courses studied by students at W6 leads to a host of career pathways via university, apprenticeships, employment and further education.

Students at W6 work hard but also have a great experience in their time here, making lifelong friendships and developing skills which gives them confidence and self-belief. For us, our inclusive family ethos is critical and allows our students to live and learn in an encouraging, friendly environment. This support starts with guiding you to choose a suitable combination of subjects which match your abilities and will help you to reach your career goal.

When you join us, you will find that we have a supportive teaching staff and additionally you will receive advice through our careers, information, and additional guidance service. Our links with local and national businesses, universities, further educational institutes, and other organisations allow us to provide you with an unrivalled programme of “extras” that is second to none.

You will be offered a wide range of new challenges and opportunities to extend and enhance your experience. For instance, you can take part in our excellent performing arts productions, mathematical and engineering challenges, fitness activities, our exceptional basketball and football academies, sporting fixtures, student leadership and much more.

We recognise that for you to develop fully as an inquisitive, inspired and well-prepared adult you need to be exposed to a wide range of experiences that will challenge you, question your views, open your mind or simply just make you think. Whatever it is, we invite you to take advantage of everything we have to offer.

We will work together to bridge the gap between sixth form and your future, whether it is a course in higher education or the world of employment. We nurture a work ethic and culture that will enable you to complete your studies successfully and support you in fulfilling your individual potential.

It is our vision that every student who joins in year 7 stays with us to complete their post-16 education at W6. We think that after a short conversation with our dynamic students or amazing teachers you will be impressed.

We look forward to welcoming you to W6.
