Newly qualified teacher, Ruth Brown, recently completed a placement at SRWA in the Design and Technology department as part of her teacher training at Hurstpierpoint College. 

As well as being a newly qualified teacher, Ruth is also a professional Jeweller and on the 8th July she returned to SRWA to run a Jewellery making workshop with our year 8s.  Ruth showed the students a series of jewellery making techniques before the challenging them to use the techniques to make their own silver ring. 

The students worked hard to complete the task and all left wearing their freshly made bling. The students have unfortunately missed time in the workshop this year so it was great to get them back after school to do some extracurricular activities and allow them to experience and develop some new skills.
