A- Level Results – August 2015

 

Upward trend continues for A level students at Sir Robert Woodard Academy:

Students and staff at SRWA, a member of the Woodard Academies Trust, are today celebrating another  excellent set of A Level results with a 100% pass rate in all subjects, with an impressive half of these at Grade A*-B.  AS results also show a positive overall improvement on last year’s performance, again reflecting an upward trend.

Students took AS, A Levels and a variety of equivalent qualifications across a wide range of subjects.  Among the many successes at A level, excellence was achieved in the specialism of Maths, with an 100% A*-B Grade pass rate, Sociology with 80% A*-B, and History with 67% A*-C .

Fantastic results were also achieved by Health and Social care, with 100% of all students gaining the equivalent of an A*grade. Students in English also performed strongly, with a 67% pass rate at A*-C.

As ever, the Academy’s specialism in Performing Arts continues to deliver outstanding results, with an overwhelming number of students achieving the equivalent of an A* grade in Production Arts (Drama), Dance and Music Performance.

There were many examples of excellent individual performances, adding value to the academy and the students’ own progress towards academic success in preparation for their futures.

The grades at AS level were a 4% improvement on last year’s % of A*-B grades and a 6% increase in A-E passes. Subject highlights include Media Studies, Maths and History, with 100%, 78% and 75% A-C grades respectively.

The mixed 11 – 18 academy serving primarily Lancing and Sompting in West Sussex opened in 2009 and is co-sponsored by Woodard Schools and West Sussex County Council.
